History:
Chocolati Handmade Chocolates, formerly known as Sutliff Candy & Promotions was purchased by owner, Christian Wong, in 2000. Christian graduated from Seattle University with a degree in Business Finance and Accounting. After a few years in a corporate job, Christian left with a chocolate dream. He purchased the remaining assets and antiquated chocolate machinery from Sutliff Candy & Promotions, which produced the gourmet chocolates called “Habits” sold exclusively at the Nordstrom Company in the early 1980s.
In 2001, Christian acquired another Seattle-based chocolatier, CBM Chocolate Company that specialized in custom chocolate moulds. The acquisition gives Chocolati the opportunity to offer our clients a wide range of options to customize their chocolate gifting.
Between 2002 and 2003, two Chocolati Cafés were opened in the bustling North Seattle area. The cafés serve custom blends of hot chocolate, mocha and espresso beverages, as well as all of our favorite chocolate creations.
In summer of 2003, Chocolati embarked on a partnership with Washington Mutual Bank to serve hot chocolate and coffee beverages and chocolate confections at their branches to customers to enhance their banking experience. Today, we have established a café at the Washington Mutual Belltown branch in Seattle with more to come in the near future...watch for our cafés in your neighborhood.
Goals and Missions:
Chocolati's goal is to grow at a steady pace without compromising the quality and the personal attention we give to our customers and to our chocolates. As profitability increases, Chocolati's mission is to give back to the community through donations to a number of selected local and national organizations. We believe that it is a company's duty to support the communities that keep us in business. Business philanthropy will be the guiding philosophy for Chocolati as we come upon our 5 year anniversary and beyond.
